Josiah Kumpost was born in Würztburg, Germany, but spent his childhood in Kearney, MO. Growing up, Josiah had a multifaceted interest in the arts. While in high school, he developed a love for music performance: participated in chamber choir, studied Bassoon and was a drum major for his marching band. Josiah has dabbled in photography: shooting, developing and darkroom printing; a hobby he picked up, admittedly, after hearing that Stanley Kubrick started with photojournalism. His transition to theatre came from an ever-present love of film. He graduated from Missouri State University with a BFA in Theatre Performance in 2012. In addition to his numerous involvements with University productions, Josiah established himself as the “experimental theatre guy,” designing and implementing several productions as well as hosting secret midnight Viewpoint sessions. Currently, he resides in Chicago, IL, pursuing a theatrical career.
